OpenAI DevDay brought ChatGPT dots, GPT-6.1 Sol, Ultrafast, a $500 ChatGPT Pro plan, Space and Codex Cloud. I go through the announcements and the demos, explain where each one could fit into a working day, and share what I'd try first in my own business.
dots is OpenAI's always-on assistant, with its own cloud computer and connections to the apps you already use. That raises practical questions about what work to hand over, which permissions to grant and how much supervision it needs. I also compare Sol 6.1's reported performance and cost, look at the faster Astra option, and work through the subscription and usage changes behind the new Pro plan.
Space and Codex Cloud could make shared work and background coding easier. Access varies by plan and region, though, and I can't use everything announced yet. I finish with the four updates I'd look at first and when another subscription would actually earn its place.
