今回取り上げるのは #ピンポン です🏓
前回紹介した #MartySupreme に触発されて、同じ卓球映画のこれ！
松本大洋原作マンガの実写映画化。脚本はクドカン。濃ゆいキャスティングの中で主演を務めるのは時代の申し子、窪塚洋介。独特なキャラクター性を彼自身のイメージと完全に融合させた本作は、公開当時大きな話題を呼びました。
あの頃の青春が蘇る……はずだったのですが。
今見てみると、まこは少し、……ピンとこなかったよ。コテコテの台詞回しと、クドカン節の独特のテンポ。あの頃はそれが格好よかったんだけど、今見るとちょっと……。これが時代を感じるということなのか、それとも大人になっちゃったということなのか。
それでも「〇〇にかけた青春映画は面白い」説は揺らがない。その理由を語ります。

Hey there! I'm Mako, your movie talk personality.
This episode covers #PingPong2002 🏓
Inspired by last episode's #MartySupreme, it was only natural to follow up with this — another film where everything comes down to a table tennis paddle.
Based on Matsumoto Taiyou's manga, with a screenplay by Kudou Kankurou. Kubozuka Yousuke leads an absurdly stacked cast, fusing his own magnetic persona completely into the character of Peco — and the result was a phenomenon when it came out.
The youth, the nostalgia, the feeling of it all coming back… except, well. Mako found himself not quite feeling it this time around. The dialogue leans hard into that over-the-top manga style, and the Kudou Kankurou rhythms that felt so sharp and cool back then — watching it now, they come across as a little dated. A little try-hard, even. Is that what it feels like when a film belongs to its era? Or has Mako just gotten old?
And yet — the thesis holds: any movie about someone pouring everything into one thing is going to be watchable. This episode explains why.
