"That doesn't even enter my consciousness."

Hey there! I'm Mako, your movie talk personality.
This episode covers #MartySupreme 🏓
A listener request — and what a ride.
Sports drama? Comedy? Does this even count as a sports film? — From the opening frames, the film piles on elements relentlessly, strapping you in for a rollercoaster you didn't see coming.
Mako went in expecting some kind of ping-pong ball business movie. Those new-color ping-pong balls? They contribute absolutely nothing and get tossed out onto the road. No time to process it — the next disaster is already here.
Marty's magnificent terribleness as a human being is the engine driving this film forward at full throttle, one gear at a time. A genuinely new kind of cinematic experience.
And yet — impossible to hate the guy. No real reason to root for him, and somehow you can't stop. The secret behind that is what this episode is all about 🧡
