The trail ends in El Paso.

After hours buried in BLACK LANTERN, the agents can finally put a name to the last missing child of Cornucopia House. Conrad Hopko became Jacob Tillman. Jacob became Esau. And Esau found his way inside Immigration and Customs Enforcement, into a system filled with captive children.

But the deeper the team digs, the less their investigation feels like an investigation.

Something is watching from inside the walls.

Something is beating itself bloody against the windows.

And sometime after four in the morning, the universe delivers a message.

By sunrise, the agents have their answer. They know who Conradin is. They know where he went. And across the ruined pages of their evidence, written in blood, something has given them their next assignment.
