Thousands of Victorian teachers are staging their second 24-hour strike in recent months after narrowly rejecting a government pay offer by 51% to 49%. The teachers are marching through Melbourne's Bourke Street Mall to State Parliament, demanding better pay and conditions including smaller class sizes, reduced meeting time, and improved wages for support staff. Another strike is being considered for the week after next if negotiations fail.
