Each of us experience things going wrong. It stinks. It can make us question our choices, who we are, and if God really cares about us.
Our family recently went through things going wrong. I will share about that and offer advice on how to deal with things going wrong in ways that give your soul the attention it deserves as well as helping you to move on.

Take Aways
Our situation: Military assignment to Okinawa, Japan put on pause.
Waiting and changing plans again and again over 1.5 months (Summer 2026).
Being denied medical clearance to Okinawa.
Husband given an assignment to run the legal office at an out the of way base.
Healthy ways to process and move forward:
Be sad and disappointed you won't get what you hoped for. [But don't let yourself transition to being depressed or hopeless.]
Write or express all the nitty gritty ways things went wrong in regards to this situation.
If desired, talk to someone about your feelings.
Be patient with others going through this loss alongside you. They are entitled to their disappointment too.
Look for fun and good things during this hard time.
Reach out for support from those who truly love you.
Opt-in to being with someone else INSTEAD of being alone when you are feeling THE WORST.
Move forward... set new goals, make new friends and routines, connect with old friends/family frequently too, get involved in something that makes life better for someone else (church, community, see an individual need and fill it)
Let the GOOD that happened during this difficult time SIMMER and be what lingers instead of all that went wrong.
You've got this.
