In this Yoga practice, we explore Buddhist slogans to offer kindness to the Kleshas, our mental-emotional afflictions. At our core, we possess a basic goodness and desire for joy, but we inevitably face pain, change, and loss. These challenges can feel like the warmth of a fire, sustaining yet painful when we get too close. Through Yoga, we learn to make peace with ourselves, embracing our internal and external struggles. The five Kleshas... ignorance, egotism, attachment, aversion, and fear of loss... shape our habits and behaviours. By understanding their origins, we weaken their hold. Yoga Sutras guide us to move inward, focus on the present, and cultivate loving awareness and compassion. Through practice, we can address our pain with kindness, transforming suffering into healing. This practice helps us release attachments, embrace self-acceptance, and expand compassion for ourselves and others, fostering peace and connection.
