What if strength training isn't improving your posture? In this episode, I speak with my trusty podcast producer, Tony, all about the neurology of posture. I discuss why posture is so commonly misunderstood, why higher order systems cannot be ignored with regard to posture, and how to assess postural problems from an applied neurology perspective. I talk about the importance of vision, balance, and movement in defining posture, as well as address structural issues from birth or lifestyle, and in doing so I make the case that posture and higher order neurological systems are inherently connected. With that knowledge, I then provide a framework for analyzing posture from a more holistic vantage point. From gait assessments to vision drills and even understanding why a hearing deficit may be causing bad posture, this episode is everything you need to know and probably aren't hearing about with regard to posture.
Thank you to my podcast idea man and coach, Tony Fowler (Instagram: @tone_reverie) for helping me put together this episode!
