Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “I don’t even know who I am anymore”?

In Part 1 of this two-part series, I’m talking about self-abandonment—how we learn to pay so much attention to what other people want, need, think, and expect from us that our own voice becomes harder and harder to hear.

I’m sharing how discovering the truth about my biological father at eight years old shaped my beliefs around belonging and abandonment, how those beliefs followed me into adulthood, and why I became so damn good at becoming who I thought other people needed me to be.

We’ll also talk about the everyday ways self-abandonment shows up through people-pleasing, permission-seeking, keeping the peace, changing ourselves to belong, and feeling responsible for everyone else’s happiness.

Because you may not have lost yourself at all.

You may have learned to leave yourself. And what you learned, you can begin to change.

In Part 2, we’ll talk about how to start choosing yourself again. ❤️
