Two Old Bloggers: Vikings Trade J.J. McCarthy, Flores’ Defense Shines, Dolphins Preview — Dave Stefano and guest Drew discuss the Vikings trading J.J. McCarthy to the Giants for a possible 2027 fifth-round pick, calling his Minnesota tenure a “colossal failure” and debating blame, quarterback development, and the Vikings’ long history of QB instability; they note the team has moved on to Kyler Murray, who looks uncomfortable in Kevin O’Connell’s offense. They praise Brian Flores’ blitz-heavy, top-performing defense and worry he may be hired away, then cover tight end Josh Oliver’s season-ending right biceps tear and potential replacements. In a Dolphins preview (Miami 0–3 vs. Vikings 3–0), Drew highlights Minnesota’s league-leading 14 sacks versus Miami’s zero, Miami’s low scoring (about 12 points/game) and red-zone struggles, the loss of RB A-Chan, and challenges O’Connell to reach 20 first downs; he predicts a Vikings win, 31–10.
