What happens when a label meant to describe something about you becomes the way you define yourself?

In this episode of Jessica Meils the Podcast, I’m sharing more of my lived experience with ADHD and dyslexia—and how being diagnosed in early childhood shaped the way I saw myself for many years.

The labels weren’t the belief.

It was the meaning I attached to them.

Somewhere along the way, recognizing that I learned and processed information differently became:

I’m not smart.

Eventually, that belief became part of my identity.

This conversation continues what we’ve been exploring throughout Season 3: our individual blueprints, intuition, embodiment, and learning to trust the way we naturally move through the world.

In Episode 87, The Art of Awareness, I shared how the way my mind works has supported my intuitive and mediumship development.

In Episode 88, we explored the birth chart as a blueprint—not a rulebook—and becoming curious about what makes each of us unique.

Today, we’re going deeper.

Through intuitive healing and limiting-belief work, I began separating my ADHD and dyslexia from the beliefs I had created around them.

I became more neutral with the labels.

From there, I could appreciate the way my brain actually works.

I could recognize where something challenged me without turning that challenge into an identity.

And I could appreciate my strengths without dismissing what had genuinely been difficult.

Today, I see how the way I process information has supported both me and the people I’ve guided throughout nearly a decade of professional intuitive work.

IN THIS EPISODE:

  • ADHD and dyslexia in early childhood
  • How labels can influence identity and limiting beliefs
  • The belief that I wasn’t smart enough
  • Intuitive healing and limiting-belief work
  • ADHD, neurodivergence, and intuition
  • Becoming neutral with the labels we carry
  • Recognizing challenges without making them our identity
  • Self-acceptance, embodiment, and self-trust

This isn’t about pretending the challenging parts weren’t challenging.

It’s about recognizing the difference between:

This is something I experience.

And...

This is who I am.

We can recognize where something challenges us without turning those challenges into an identity.

And when we loosen our attachment to the story of what something means about us, we create space to see ourselves differently.
