Section 1

Returning to Revelation 12:13–17, Dr. Dave examines the dragon's persecution of the woman and her offspring, emphasizing God's protection during a specifically appointed season of suffering. The reference to “a time, times, and half a time,” also found in Daniel 7:25, reminds believers that persecution operates within boundaries established by God. The eagle's wings symbolize divine deliverance, echoing God's rescue of Israel in Exodus. However, the central message appears in verse 17, where the dragon wages war against those who keep God's commandments and hold the testimony of Jesus Christ. Regardless of differing interpretations concerning the woman's identity, the application is personal. Every follower of Jesus participates in spiritual warfare, whether recognizing the enemy's obvious attacks or encountering his subtle attempts to deceive and discourage.

Section 2

The discussion turns toward the reality that Satan continues fighting even though his ultimate defeat is certain. Drawing from Ephesians 6:10–12, Dr. Dave reminds listeners that spiritual warfare remains an ongoing part of Christian living. The enemy attempts to steal, destroy, and deceive, but believers possess God's truth to overcome his lies. Jesus summarized God's commandments through loving God and loving others, later commanding His followers to love one another as He loved them. Dr. Dave emphasizes that Revelation's central message is unmistakable: God wins. The battle continues, but its outcome has already been determined. Satan seeks to prevent people from entering God's kingdom and discourage those praying for loved ones. Nevertheless, Christians must refuse to surrender, remembering that the King of Kings has never experienced defeat.

Section 3

Although victory is guaranteed through Jesus Christ, Dr. Dave carefully explains that believers are not promised freedom from suffering, wounds, or difficult battles. Instead, they are called to persevere through trials while trusting God's ultimate authority. Second Corinthians 3:18 reveals that the Lord progressively transforms His children into Christ's likeness. Perseverance develops through experience, not merely through understanding biblical principles. Remembering his early Christian years with Billy, Bruce, and Larry, Dr. Dave recalls wondering why believers couldn't simply enter heaven immediately after salvation. God's purpose includes shaping His people through life's challenges. Abraham provides another example by acknowledging impossible circumstances while choosing to trust God's promise. Faith does not require denying reality; it requires believing God above what circumstances suggest. The enemy may attack, the battles may hurt, and the waiting may be difficult, but the children of God belong to the only One who has never lost and never will.
