Season 3 Episode 8 : Feminism, Allyship, and Accountability

This week's podcast is full of passion as Rachelle explores the (sometimes controversial) topic of Feminism. Listen in to hear her talk everything from it's definition to the actionable steps we can take to hold ourselves and each other accountable.

She challenges listeners to examine their actions and question how they are supporting women's rights in their daily lives. Encouraging us to call out inappropriate behavior and language towards women amongst our peers.

This thought-provoking episode promises to ask important questions about the true meaning of allyship and how men can actively contribute to the fight for gender equality.

Too Long, Didn’t Listen (TLDL):

  • For Women: Ask the men in your life, "What are you doing about women's rights? How do you hold other men accountable?"
  • For Men: Look at how much you are participating in allyship, and ask yourself what you can do to live up to the true essence of that space. **When was the last time I confronted a man who was doing or saying something inappropriate or unfair, whether directly to a woman in front of me or just talking amongst men? How am I speaking about women when they aren't around?
  • it doesn't have to be confrontational, but STOP laughing at the "jokes". STOP participating. STOP smiling/ STOP being silent when you're uncomfortable.
