I just sat down with Rajesh Ganesan, CEO of ManageEngine on The Ravit Show, to talk about what happens after a breach. ManageEngine surveyed 700 IT and security leaders across the US and Canada. Every one of them had been through a breach or incident.
Here is what stood out:
- 91% are confident in their security posture. Yet 33% believe a major breach is inevitable.
- Only 8% make security a permanent priority after a breach. 80% say the urgency fades within 1 to 6 months.
- 44% made no structural or strategic change after their latest incident.
- 90% say business priorities take precedence over security.
- 84% say employees report mistakes quickly. But 83% say fear of blame still shapes how incidents are handled.
- Then there is AI. 67% act on AI recommendations without extra verification, and 55% say AI has made them more willing to accept cyber risk.
In our conversation, Rajesh shares how leaders can keep security a priority once the pressure is off, why ownership matters, and when a human should step in on AI-driven decisions.
If you lead IT or security, this one is worth your time.
Thank you Rajesh Ganesan and the ManageEngine team for the great conversation.
