I Explored The Haunted House On Maple Street

A Haunted House story about a kid and his friend Dave that sneak out at midnight to explore an abandoned, supposedly haunted house in their neighborhood. While investigating the upper floor, Dave falls through rotted floorboards into a locked room, where the narrator watches in horror as a grotesque, smiling humanoid monster brutally slays his friend.

Although the police later attribute Dave's death to an overdosed vagrant found at the scene, the narrator escapes with his life but remains permanently scarred by the entity—ending with a chilling final knock at his own front door years later.
