A new poll says President Trump is losing support among cannabis consumers, but does the headline tell the whole story? It found 29% approve of the administration's cannabis actions, down from 48% last quarter and 73% before that. Only 20% disapprove, while 51% are neutral or have no opinion, and 47% said broader legalization would raise their support.The host argues the survey doesn't show why approval fell, and points to the timing: the president's overall approval has also been sliding, with the midterms about two weeks away. He doesn't dismiss the frustration over rescheduling delays, which are real, especially for operators waiting on clarity around Section 280E.The breakdown also reviews what the administration has done, including a December 2025 executive order directing rescheduling and an April 2026 order moving FDA-approved marijuana products and qualifying state-licensed medical cannabis to Schedule III. Broader rescheduling remains stuck in a DEA hearing and court challenges. In his opinion, this administration has advanced federal cannabis reform further than any in the last 50 years, while the Biden administration deserves credit for starting the review.
