New York has always been a city of stories, and Real Life Comix: Only in New York turns more than 50 of them into #comics. Co-editors Doug Latino and returning guest Dean Haspiel join the Bandits to discuss the new hardcover memoir anthology from Cosmic Lion Productions, featuring nearly all-new material from an extraordinary lineup that includes Roz Chast, Drew Friedman, Peter Kuper, Josh Neufeld, Moby, Julia Wertz, Ann Nocenti, and dozens more. Doug and Dean talk about curating such a wide range of voices, what makes a story feel uniquely New York, and how Jack Kirby’s autobiographical Street Code came to anchor the collection. Along the way, they reflect on memoir as a comics form, the challenges of editing a book this ambitious, and why the city continues to inspire stories that are funny, painful, strange, and unmistakably its own.

The crowdfunded anthology is available at local comic book shops as of October 7—so pick up your copy today!
