Gonzaga Bulldogs may have discovered their next breakout star in French guard Juwan Ekanga. Can Mark Few turn this 19-year-old international prospect into his newest developmental success? Ekanga brings high-level athleticism, relentless rim attacks, and a history with JL Bourg’s U21 team and the French U20 national squad. His recent showing at Kraziness in the Kennel signals major upside—will his aggressive play and passing skills earn him a real role this season?
Andy Patton breaks down Ekanga’s basketball journey from Aix-les-Bains, France, to Spokane, spotlighting his strengths, areas for growth, and the uncertain impact of ongoing eligibility questions for Gonzaga’s roster. The conversation features best and worst-case scenarios for Ekanga, projections for his minutes behind established players like Chauncey Wiggins and Davis Fogle, and predictions for his long-term future with the Bulldogs. Is Ekanga on track to be Gonzaga’s next international success story?
