Season 6, Episode 15: Interview with Katy Wilson (Nancy) in “Slanted” (2025)

Picture a world where you could trade in your face for a 'stock photo' version of perfection just to win a high school popularity contest. I am talking about the film that absolutely dominated SXSW in 2025, taking home the Grand Jury Prize.

I had the absolute best time speaking to Katy about her role in Slanted. We spoke about her character’s transformation and how she was able to maintain the balance between the broad, the satire, and the genuine horror of the surgery’s aftermath.

Even though the Director, Amy Wang, created this movie from personal experience, I am sure that collaborative process was genius and flawless while preserving the film’s heightened sense of reality.
