In this episode, Dr. Mike Hart sits down with Dr. Leigh Erin Connealy for a wide-ranging conversation on cancer prevention and the factors she believes influence long-term health. Dr. Connealy shares her perspective on why cancer should be approached as a whole-body problem, exploring the roles of nutrition, metabolic health, environmental toxins, sleep, stress, hormones, and mitochondrial function. They also discuss fasting and ketogenic diets, cancer screening, GLP-1 medications, aspirin, peptides, medicinal mushrooms, IV vitamin C, and other integrative approaches, along with Dr. Connealy's concerns about conventional screening and treatment practices. Throughout the conversation, she emphasizes individualized care and looking beyond a diagnosis to understand the broader conditions affecting each patient.

Dr. Leigh Erin Connealy is a medical doctor with four decades of experience who takes a prevention-focused, whole-person approach to health, longevity, and complex chronic disease. Her work spans human optimization through advanced conditions including cancer, dementia, autoimmune disease, and Parkinson's, with an emphasis on identifying and addressing factors that may interfere with the body's ability to function optimally. Her approach was shaped in part by her own health journey after learning that she had been exposed before birth to DES (diethylstilbestrol), which led her to undergo ongoing evaluations at MD Anderson and explore medicine beyond conventional symptom-based care. Over her career, she has incorporated individualized laboratory assessment, natural hormones, nutrition, peptides, and other integrative strategies while emphasizing what she describes as "creating health" rather than simply treating a diagnosis.
