At 16 years old, Payam was forced to flee Iran because of the persecution he faced as a member of the Bahá'í Faith. After a dangerous journey and time in a refugee camp, he was granted asylum in the United States and began rebuilding his life in a new country.
Payam went on to become a pioneering tech entrepreneur, co-founding AutoWeb, one of the first online automotive marketplaces, and taking the company public during the early days of the internet.
But his story is about much more than business success.
