In this episode, listen in on a conversation I had with fellow life coach Colette Kraemer on making a fall pivot and the practice of de-summering. The goal is to intentionally transition from summer’s energy and pace into a joyful, meaningful autumn.

Here are 3 key takeaways:

  • Notice your energy and honor your limits.
Many of us try to pack as much into summer as possible, then head into fall feeling depleted instead of refreshed. Pay attention to your energy levels—mentally, emotionally, physically—and use simple tools like an energy check-in chart to match your activities to the energy you actually have. Slow down when you need to and allow yourself to rest without guilt.
  • Celebrate your season and practice gratitude.
Look back before moving forward. Scroll your summer camera roll, make a list, or keep a gratitude journal to remember the moments and new experiences you enjoyed this summer. This reflection brings gratitude and helps you transition into fall with intention.
  • Take small action steps to create meaningful change.
Whether it’s spending more time outside, organizing a small space, or starting something new, focus on tiny, doable practice steps.

Protect your best energy for what matters most—let go of guilt, and remember it’s better to make progress with kindness toward yourself than to aim for perfection. Regularly pause to notice what’s working, celebrate your wins, and set intentions for the next season.
