Curtis Flowers was tried SIX times for the same quadruple murder, sentenced to death four times, and spent 23 years behind bars before finally being freed. Now, just seven years after his release, Flowers has died at age 56.
In this episode of True Crime Squad, we examine the extraordinary case of Curtis Flowers, who was accused of murdering four people at Tardy Furniture in Winona, Mississippi, in 1996.
We take a deep dive into the evidence, questionable eyewitness testimony, jailhouse informants who later recanted, allegations of prosecutorial misconduct, and the racial discrimination in jury selection that ultimately led the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn his conviction.
We'll also explore the groundbreaking *In the Dark* podcast investigation, alternative suspects, Flowers' eventual release, his final years, and the latest information surrounding his death in October 2026.
After six trials and decades of litigation, the murders of Bertha Tardy, Carmen Rigby, Robert Golden, and Derrick Stewart remain unsolved.
**Was Curtis Flowers the victim of one of America's most extraordinary miscarriages of justice? And will the victims' families ever receive answers?**
