I was asked how someone is supposed to start before they are ready.

The question sounds practical, but a lot of the time it comes from self-doubt. Sometimes it even comes from abandoning yourself before you have given yourself a chance.

You start believing you have nothing to offer. So you keep collecting more knowledge, waiting for more confidence, another credential, or another sign that you are allowed to begin.

But starting before you are ready is not about pretending you know everything. It is about knowing the direction you want to move in and taking the first step with what you already have.

If you know one thing, there is probably someone who does not know it yet. You can help that person. That does not mean you are finished learning. It simply means your current knowledge is already useful to someone who is a few steps behind you.

At the same time, you can learn from somebody who is further ahead. That person can become your mentor. You can learn from one person and help another at the same time. You do not have to reach the top before you become useful.

That is why I do not think belief is always necessary. Clarity is more important.

You need to get clear about what you know right now, what you can do with it, and who it could help.

Most people are trained to keep seeking more knowledge, but not to share what they already know. They are taught to consume, prepare, and wait. They are not taught to put their understanding into the world while it is still developing.

You will always have something else to learn. There will always be somebody more experienced, more qualified, or further ahead. If you use that as a reason to stay silent, you can spend your entire life preparing.

Starting before you are ready means being honest about where you are, offering what you actually know, and letting action show you what to learn next.

Help one person. Make one thing. Take one step in the direction you already know matters to you.

That is how you become ready.
