Most of us grip tighter when life feels uncertain. We work harder, plan more, and try to control everything within reach.

This week I'm joined by Bron Watson, a nurse, educator, and entrepreneur who built a thriving coaching business while a quiet voice kept telling her something wasn't right. She ignored it until a breast cancer diagnosis in 2017 changed everything. Five years later, a second diagnosis followed: an incurable blood cancer.

In this conversation, Bron and I talk about what it costs to override your own intuition, and what it actually means to control the controllables when nothing feels controllable at all. We get into her "saber-tooth tiger" business model, the moment she shut her mastermind down overnight, and why she now believes everyone can heal, even when not everyone gets a cure.

If you've ever pushed through something your gut told you to stop and look at, pop in those earphones.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • How Bron's "saber-tooth tiger" model fed off her own energy until she couldn't safely get off
  • Why "just let it go" can feel dismissive — and what Bron does instead when emotion hits
  • How Bron's husband uses "the pause" to create space before reacting
  • What it means to be the CEO of your own "executive committee," and who actually belongs on it
  • Why Bron wants the word "cure" dropped from how we talk about cancer altogether
  • How a roadmap, not a fixed plan, helped Bron navigate setbacks without losing direction

RESOURCES MENTIONED

  • The Serenity Prayer (referenced by Bron throughout the episode)

  • Bron's upcoming book, Be Where Your Feet Are

ABOUT BRON WATSON

Bron Watson is a nurse, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of The Social Coach and The Serenity Project. With decades of experience as a registered nurse and educator, she's spent her career drawn to spaces where care, communication, and connection matter most.

She founded her first business in 2012, helping business owners share their voice online with authenticity and purpose. Over the past decade, her work through The Social Coach has supported thousands of people to show up in life and business with intention.

Bron's journey shifted in 2017 with a breast cancer diagnosis, and again in 2023 with a second diagnosis: an incurable blood cancer. These experiences shaped her belief that healing reaches far beyond the physical. It's emotional, spiritual, and entirely personal. So she created The Serenity Project, a space where science meets soul, alongside her continued work with The Social Coach.
