Montreal Canadiens must pivot as Samuel Montembeault suffers an untimely injury before a key game against the Nashville Predators. Can the Habs’ goaltending hold up as Jacob Fowler gets the call-up and Jakub Dobeš needs a break after being hung out to dry in his latest outings? Injury woes also hit Ivan Demidov, Oliver Kapanen, and Kaiden Guhle, raising concerns about Montreal’s early-season luck and depth.
Laura Saba and Ian Boisvert break down Montembeault’s status, analyze defensive lapses, and preview the Canadiens’ keys to bouncing back in their upcoming matchup. The hosts weigh the latest rumors linking Dylan Larkin to Montreal, debating his fit and potential locker room impact, and review head coach Martin St-Louis’ back-to-basics strategy. Can fundamental hockey and strong leadership stabilize the Canadiens’ season, or will injury turmoil derail their ambitions?
