Whenever we as humans start something new, there is alwasy a massive amount of exceitement that kicks off the beginning of that journey. We are exctied to dive in deep, energetic to create something new, and happy to be doing something we find fun. But as time goes on, and more of the business and responsibilities side comes into play, things start to change.
For many artists that are out there, once the business side becomes more stressful and pressing, then the creative side of music becomes less fun and more prcedural. When artists arent excited about their music, the art suffers. It is importance they find that sense of "new-found happiness" again. And well, we found one.
Joshua from Banks Arcade joins the Chord Progression Podcast as the band is set to release their second album "Second Place Superstar" on September 25th. On this episode, we talk about:
- The intense happiness that Banks Arcade felt when making this new album, by switching their mentality back to enjoying the music instead of stressing out about the business.
- How the music of Banks Arcade has evolved on Second Place Superstar, where the sonic presentation contains more of a connective yet expansive groove on each track.
- A number of the non-singles being released off of Second Place Superstar, and how Joshua was able to use these tracks to show a more expansive emotinal vocal range.
