Join Rob McConnell as he welcomes Robert “JavaBob” Schmalzbach, American Bigfoot researcher, author, entrepreneur and former high-tech engineering manager whose fascination with one of North America's greatest unexplained mysteries led him into the wilderness in search of the legendary Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch. Before pursuing his passion for cryptozoology, Schmalzbach spent more than 20 years working in the high-technology industry as an equipment engineering manager for companies including AT&T's Bell Labs Technology Division, Honeywell and Integrated Device Technology. His engineering background helped shape his practical, hands-on approach to investigating unusual claims and evaluating possible physical evidence. After relocating to Northern California, Schmalzbach became deeply involved in the community of Happy Camp, a region surrounded by the rugged forests and mountains of Siskiyou County. Long associated with Bigfoot sightings and legends, the area provided an intriguing setting for his investigations. Schmalzbach also operated several businesses, including JavaBob's Bigfoot Deli, combining his entrepreneurial interests with his enthusiasm for the mysterious creature.Schmalzbach is the author of Monsters, Myths and Me, a book chronicling his experiences as a field researcher attempting to uncover empirical evidence of Bigfoot's existence. He also published an electronic magazine titled Foot Prints in Your Mind, featuring paranormal stories, unusual facts and discussions of unexplained phenomena. His investigations explore eyewitness testimony, mysterious footprints, alleged hair samples, possible DNA evidence and reports of enormous, humanlike creatures inhabiting remote wilderness areas. Schmalzbach has also been associated with organized Bigfoot research efforts, including Searching for Bigfoot, Inc., and participated in the documentary Bigfoot Lives.Although thousands of people have reported encounters with Bigfoot, scientists have not established that an undiscovered giant primate inhabits North America. Footprints, photographs, videos and purported biological samples continue to generate debate, but no independently verified specimen has demonstrated the creature's existence.Join Rob McConnell and Robert “JavaBob” Schmalzbach on The 'X' Zone Radio Show for a fascinating expedition into Bigfoot sightings, Sasquatch legends, cryptozoology and the search for physical evidence of an unknown species.Could an undiscovered giant primate still be hiding in the forests of North America? What convinced JavaBob to dedicate his time to searching for Bigfoot? How reliable are eyewitness accounts from hunters, campers and wilderness travellers? Can footprints, hair samples or DNA testing finally settle the mystery? Why has no scientifically verified body or skeleton been discovered? And after generations of sightings, hoaxes and extraordinary claims, are researchers any closer to discovering the truth behind the legendary Sasquatch? An intriguing journey into the wilderness, the science of investigation and one of the most enduring mysteries in the history of cryptozoology—where the search for Bigfoot continues!
