Her work combines historical documentation, eyewitness testimony and firsthand investigations to preserve the remarkable stories associated with this celebrated ship.Launched in 1934 and making her maiden voyage in 1936, the Queen Mary represented the height of transatlantic luxury, carrying royalty, celebrities, politicians and thousands of passengers across the Atlantic Ocean. During the Second World War, she was transformed into a troopship, earning the nickname “The Grey Ghost” as she transported Allied personnel through dangerous waters. Following decades of distinguished service, the Queen Mary retired to Long Beach in 1967, where she eventually became a floating hotel, museum and tourist attraction.But according to numerous visitors, employees and paranormal investigators, some of the Queen Mary's former passengers and crew members may never have left the ship.Reports of mysterious footsteps, unexplained voices, shadowy apparitions, disembodied laughter and sudden changes in temperature have contributed to the ship's reputation as one of America's most haunted landmarks. Particularly intriguing are the stories surrounding the first-class swimming pool, the engine room, the boiler rooms, the former isolation ward and various passenger corridors, where witnesses have described unusual encounters.Strickland has spent countless hours investigating these reports, documenting personal experiences, interviewing witnesses and examining alleged Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP). She also emphasizes the importance of understanding the Queen Mary's documented history, believing that the lives of her passengers and crew provide essential context for the ship's enduring ghost stories. While these accounts are compelling to many enthusiasts, paranormal recordings and eyewitness experiences have not scientifically established the presence of spirits.
