1949's Scene of the Crime was a departure for MGM, the studio known for musicals and light comedies.  New studio head Dory Schary was a fan of film noir and felt his studio's output should include stories of cops solving crimes and the femmes fatale who make their jobs harder.  He cast several actors working against type:  Van Johnson, Arlene Dahl, Gloria DeHaven and Tom Drake.

Dan and Vicky discuss the film along with recently seen movies like Practical Magic 1 and 2, By Any Means, The Weight, lots of Disney animation and Hulu's Furious.
