Welcome!

And thank you for listening.

In this episode, I discuss the importance of recognizing potentially serious heart symptoms in runners and endurance athletes, using the story of a young runner who died unexpectedly after experiencing repeated episodes of severe palpitations. We talk about why symptoms like sudden palpitations, chest pain, and unusually high heart rates should not simply be dismissed as dehydration or anxiety, why it's important to rule out serious cardiac conditions first, and how athletes can pay closer attention to their heart rate and warning signs during exercise.

I also share an update on my ketogenic diet and my experience tracking glucose and ketones, including how exercise, insulin, carbohydrate intake, and dietary fat can affect ketone levels, why endurance athletes may use ketones faster than they produce them, and why patience and personal data are important when transitioning to a ketogenic diet.

As always, thank you for listening.
