NEWSROUND WITH DAVE DAVIS | PART 1
Dave Davis returns with another edition of Newsround on Anfield Index, examining the remarkable contrast between Liverpool's growing momentum under Andoni Iraola and Manchester United's continuing problems under Michael Carrick.
Following Manchester United's humiliating 4-1 defeat to Como, tensions appear to be rising at Old Trafford, with captain Bruno Fernandes publicly questioning the tactical approach taken by Carrick and his coaching staff.
Carrick's response, highlighting the importance of players tracking back and putting in the required effort, only adds to the questions surrounding United's leadership and direction.
Dave reacts to the growing divide between manager and captain, questioning where Manchester United go next and whether Carrick can survive the latest setback.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are presenting a completely different picture.
With three consecutive victories and just one defeat under Iraola, the Reds are beginning to find their rhythm despite injuries, demanding training sessions and the challenges of adapting to a new playing style.
Dave highlights Virgil van Dijk's leadership, contrasting the Liverpool captain's public support for Iraola with the disagreement between Fernandes and Carrick.
Van Dijk has openly embraced the manager's demanding approach, while also taking responsibility for his own difficult performance during Liverpool's dramatic 4-3 Champions League victory over Villarreal.
With Alexis Mac Allister and other senior players also buying into Iraola's methods, Liverpool appear united behind their new manager.
Dave discusses whether Iraola deserves more credit for Liverpool's impressive start, particularly as the Reds prepare for important Premier League fixtures against Brighton and Arsenal.
Why are Liverpool moving forward together while Manchester United appear to be pulling in opposite directions?
All this and more in Part 1 of Newsround with Dave Davis, exclusively on Anfield Index.
