Newsround with Dave Davis | Part 1
Dave Davis returns with another packed edition of Newsround, covering Liverpool's midfield dilemma, the latest January transfer speculation and the fallout from Sunday's controversial defeat to Arsenal.
With Trey Nyoni continuing to impress under Andoni Iraola, Dave questions whether Liverpool's established midfield stars are doing enough to justify their places in the starting eleven.
Nyoni's impressive performance against Arsenal has intensified the debate surrounding Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch, with Dave arguing that Liverpool must become more ruthless with team selection.
Steven Gerrard's praise for Alexis Mac Allister and Nyoni adds another dimension to the discussion, while Szoboszlai's recent comments about his preferred midfield role raise further questions about his suitability for Iraola's system.
Attention also turns to Liverpool's January transfer plans, with fresh reports linking the Reds with a potential €50 million move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara. Could the Senegal international provide the midfield balance Liverpool have been missing?
Dave also examines the latest speculation surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold, including Gerrard's comments on a possible Anfield return and Fabrizio Romano's update on the situation.
There's further discussion about Liverpool's full-back options, including Milos Kerkez, Josh Acheampong and reported interest in Brentford's El Hadji Malick Diouf.
Meanwhile, the controversial penalty incident involving Alexander Isak against Arsenal remains a major talking point, with Dave criticising VAR and questioning whether Liverpool need to become more streetwise when dealing with Premier League officials.
With a Champions League trip to Fenerbahçe approaching, Dave assesses the big decisions facing Iraola as Liverpool look to bounce back.
