Michael Cremo argues that the history of humanity has been drastically shortened.
In this conversation, the author of Forbidden Archaeology lays out his case for evidence of human beings existing far deeper in the past than conventional archaeology permits. He discusses strange objects recovered from ancient geological layers, discoveries he believes have been ignored or dismissed, Göbekli Tepe, lost civilizations, forgotten technologies and the possibility that modern humans once lived alongside creatures normally placed on entirely different branches of the evolutionary timeline.
But Cremo’s argument goes much further than ancient ruins. Drawing heavily on Vedic traditions, he challenges the idea that consciousness is merely a product of the brain and proposes instead that the human body is a temporary vehicle occupied by an eternal conscious self. From reincarnation and avatars to ancient psychic abilities, vanished civilizations and beings remembered in mythology, the discussion moves into a radically different model of human existence.
If the accepted archaeological timeline is wrong, even by a fraction of what Cremo proposes, then the real question is no longer simply where civilization began.
