Motor Mouths Podcast – Jason Mckenzie - Episode 14
In this episode of Motor Mouths Podcast, we sit down with Jason McKenzie, owner of Ride On Bikes in Columbus, Georgia, to hear the story behind his involvement with the Ride for Miracles.
Jason takes us behind the scenes of what it takes to make the ride happen in the middle of a busy life—balancing work, family, and the challenge of taking time away from both to hit the road for a cause that has become deeply personal.
We also talk about one of the most meaningful chapters of Jason’s life: the birth of his daughter, Lucy. What should have been a joyous moment came with serious complications, and Jason shares what his family experienced and how incredible it has been to watch Lucy grow into a thriving two-year-old.
Jason has now completed two rides, but his first ride was a little different. Without even owning a motorcycle at the time, he borrowed a bike from a great friend in Texas and headed out on the road. For this year’s ride, he made sure he had a bike of his own.
But somewhere along that first ride, Jason experienced a moment that changed the way he looked at the entire journey. After meeting the child of one of the letter recipients and giving her a ride on his motorcycle, the purpose of the ride suddenly became much bigger than the miles, the motorcycles, or the adventure.
It was the moment Jason realized the bigger picture—and exactly why we ride.
This is a powerful conversation about family, friendship, motorcycles, perspective, and the moments that remind us that what we do on the road can make a difference in one child's life.
