The birthing was more difficult than expected. Though Cersie has boasted of her strength and fights hard, the process is taking on the inexperienced young queen. She takes a deep breath and screams. Her fingers cling to the midwife as she pushes. It takes close to an hour, but at last she manages to finish the process.

She smiles as they hold up her firstborn, Joffrey Baratheon. The child squeals and cries into his mother's hands.
