Kate Schatz is a feminist author, activist, public speaker, and radical history lover. Her newest book, Where the Girls Were, is a historical novel about a pregnant teenager being sent to a home for unwed mothers in late 1960s San Francisco. We sit down to discuss this book being inspired by her mother's story, how she is doing the work to fight racism, watching The Pitt as a form of parenting (warning: this episode contains The Pitt season 2 spoilers), and why she loves collaborating with amazing folks like Miriam Klein Stahl and W. Kamau Bell.
