This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris head to Crystal Lake to discuss the seventh entry in the Friday the 13th series, The New Blood, as the new prequel series debuts on Peacock.
Seven years after Tommy Jarvis (Thom Mathews) sinks Jason Voorhees to the bottom of Crystal Lake in Part VI: Jason Lives, two new groups arrive at Crystal Lake. One is a group of "teens" planning a surprise birthday party for one of their friends, and the other is Tina Shepard (Lar Park Lincoln), a girl with telekinetic and psychic powers, her mother, Amanda (Susan Blu), and psychiatrist Dr. Crews (Terry Kiser). Dr. Crews believes being in the same place where she accidentally killed her father with her powers may cause them to become more powerful. Tina accidentally frees Jason (Kane Hodder), believing she's sensing her father under the water of the lake, and the undead killer goes on another killing spree. Zach and Chris discuss why Amanda didn't try to rescue her husband, what ulterior motive Dr. Crews may have, the odd friend group attending the birthday party, some of the best kills (like the sleeping bag against a tree), the "Carrie vs Jason" finale showdown, and more.
