For the latest Everything Action Commentary, Zach and Chris are in back-to-school mode with the 1997 movie Masterminds.
Vincent Kartheiser stars as Oswald "Ozzie" Perkins, a hacker expelled from private school for his various activities. Forced to bring his stepsister to school after getting caught trying to download an illegal copy of Scream 2, Ozzie gets caught inside when a group of armed criminals, posing as security consultants, take over the school. Led by Rafe Bentley (Patrick Stewart), the group holds the children of the 10 richest parents hostage, demanding millions in exchange for their release. Ozzie must use his wits and skills to outsmart the criminals and rescue his stepsister and the other kids.
While watching the movie, Zach and Chris discuss the absurd "hacking" sequence that opens the movie, the movie's constant assurances that no one is being killed, the plot beats similar to Die Hard, the oddly complicated corporate-takeover sideplot, and more.
