Upekshapriya recently finished teaching an introduction to Buddhism and meditation course here. He shares his experience of the six weeks:
It was a real pleasure to co-lead this course alongside Taralocana, Lokeshvara and Suryaka. From the very start, there was a genuine sense of openness and curiosity among the group. One moment that really stood out for me was introducing the breathing body meditation. Without prompting, everyone simply closed their eyes and dropped into stillness. The atmosphere became so quiet and focused, it felt almost too precious to interrupt.
Over the six weeks, that same spirit continued. There was a sense of connection, care, and a real willingness to engage – not just with the practices, but with one another. It didn’t feel like just an evening course. It felt like a group of people exploring how the Dharma could truly shape their lives. It was a joy to spend time with you, and I hope our paths cross again soon.
Introductory courses run throughout the year and are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience already. Further courses are then available if you want to go a bit deeper into Buddhism and meditation.
