If you've been carrying burnout for a while, you already know your emotions have started doing the talking. You're snapping at the people you love, then lying awake at two in the morning wondering what's wrong with you. You're likely the person who's really good at solving everybody else's problems, and somehow you've got nothing for your own. And you've quietly started to wonder if this is just who you are now.
I want to tell you something, friend. Your emotions aren't the problem. They're the report. They're telling you the truth about the level of carrying you're doing that got too heavy a long time ago.
In this final episode of The Ugly Side of Burnout, I'm pulling the whole series together — the foothold the enemy got in part one, the stronghold he built in part two — and then I'm taking you to the place (the fortress) I wish I'd have run to first. I'm talking about God's grace and what it actually is, what it looks like to hand God your actual mess instead of the cleaned-up version, and the five-part rhythm I still use on the hard days.
And I'll tell you the one thing that changed everything for me: I stopped reading my Bible to find out who I was supposed to be, and started reading it to find out whose I am.
Part 3 — The Strong Fortress (this episode): grace, and the way out
Come join me live at my Burnout RESET Workshop — Tuesday, October 27 at 11 a.m. Central. We look at the beliefs and habits that keep the cycle running, and we talk about building boundaries and a life rooted in Scripture — practical enough to start that week. You'll get a worksheet and follow-up homework so you're not inspired for five minutes and back where you started by Thursday. worklifeboundariescoach.com/RESET
