הערב אני רוצה ללכת למסעדה. Tonight I want to go to a restaurant.

אני מחפשת מסעדה טובה בתל אביב. I am looking for a good restaurant in Tel Aviv.

אני שואלת את החברים שלי: אתם מכירים מסעדה טובה בתל אביב? I ask my friends: do you know a good restaurant in Tel Aviv?

אני רוצה לאכול אוכל ישראלי: I want to eat Israeli food:

חומוס, טחינה, סלטים, שווארמה, אולי דגים. Hummus, tahini, salads, shawarma, maybe fish.

אני מתקשרת למסעדה כדי להזמין שולחן. I call the restaurant to book a table.

שלום, אני רוצה להזמין שולחן לשלושה אנשים, בבקשה. Hello, I want to book a table for three people, please.

איזה כיף — יש מקום! How nice — there is a table available!

כשאני מגיעה למסעדה, אני אומרת למארחת שיש לי הזמנה. When I arrive at the restaurant, I tell the hostess that I have a reservation.

אנחנו הולכים לשבת בשולחן. We go sit at the table.

היא שואלת אותנו אם אנחנו רוצים תפריט בעברית או באנגלית. She asks us if we want a menu in Hebrew or in English.

אני אומרת: אני רוצה תפריט בעברית, כי זה תרגול טוב בשבילי! I say: I want a menu in Hebrew, because it is good practice for me!

אנחנו יושבים ומסתכלים על התפריט. יש הרבה דברים טעימים. We sit and look at the menu. There are many tasty things.

ויש לי שאלות, אז אני שואלת את המלצר: And I have questions, so I ask the waiter:

מה התוספת עם הדג? אורז או תפוח אדמה? What is the side dish with the fish? Rice or potato?

אפשר סלט ישראלי בלי בצל? Can I have an Israeli salad without onion?

השניצל מגיע עם צ’יפס או שצריך להזמין בנפרד? Does the schnitzel come with fries or do you need to order it separately?

אנחנו מזמינים פרגיות, סלט קצוץ, חומוס, טחינה, ודג סלמון. We order chicken thighs, chopped salad, hummus, tahini, and salmon fish.

הכול טעים מאוד. חבל על הזמן! Everything is very tasty. Amazing!

אחרי הארוחה, אנחנו מבקשים חשבון: After the meal, we ask for the bill:

אפשר חשבון, בבקשה? Can we have the bill, please?

אנחנו בודקים שאין טעות בחשבון. We check that there is no mistake in the bill.

אנחנו משלמים בכרטיס אשראי ונותנים טיפ למלצר, כמובן. We pay by credit card and of course we leave a tip for the waiter.

לפני שאנחנו הולכים, אנחנו אומרים תודה למלצר. Before we leave, we thank the waiter.

איזה כיף היה במסעדה! 🍽️ It was so nice at the restaurant!
