In the new episode of one.voice, Fabian sits down with Kumasi-based artist Jonathan Okoronkwo, whose studio is located directly within a scrapyard.

Jonathan’s artistic practice explores the relationship between humans, technology, memory, and mortality through the transformation of discarded machine parts.

In the conversation, Jonathan reflects on his fascination with machines, the role of language in his work, and his years as an art student in Ghana. Together, they discuss a time in which machines are taking over more and more human tasks - and why the distinction between humans and machines may need to be defined more clearly than ever.

The conversation is in English.
