Sarah Lynn Harrison works at the intersection of identity, brand, business and human potential. A brand and content strategist for more than a decade, she first became known through Little Miss Melbourne, the successful Melbourne lifestyle blog she began in 2010. Today Sarah is an identity strategist and facilitator, a.k.a. “The Identity Queen”, helping founders, leaders and organisations get clearer about who they are and express that with more consistency, confidence and trust.
In this conversation, Sarah and Sam trace a fascinating path from Melbourne’s early social-media and blogging scene to expat life in Brunei, where Sarah found that many of the external structures she thought defined her no longer mattered. She describes experiencing “identity loss” and becoming deeply interested in the difference between brand identity and the person underneath it.
That experience now informs Sarah’s work. She sees identity as much bigger than tone of voice or a value proposition: something that affects personal confidence, founder-led brands, organisational culture, how other people understand and trust us, and how clearly we can use tools such as AI without becoming generic.
What you’ll hear:
• How Little Miss Melbourne grew from Twitter, writing practice and Melbourne’s early digital community
• Why Sarah’s move to Brunei challenged the identity she had built around work, reputation and labels
• The difference between visual branding, verbal brand identity and core identity
• Sarah’s natural ability to notice patterns, listen for what matters and translate a business’s essence
• Why founder identity often flows into organisational culture, trust and customer experience
• Imposter syndrome, self-worth and the risk of relying too heavily on external labels
• How clear brand frameworks can help AI produce work that sounds more genuinely like you
