Have you ever had a food craving that felt so loud and overwhelming that you thought the only way to make it stop was to give in?

In this episode, I'm sharing a simple story from a day at the beach that I believe is a good metaphor for cravings. As my family sat down to eat, a group of seagulls became increasingly loud and aggressive, constantly trying to get our food. But when we refused to feed them, something interesting happened: eventually, they quieted down and flew away.

Cravings can work the same way. The more we feed them, the louder and more persistent they can become. But when we learn to pause, wait, and let the craving pass instead of immediately giving in, we can discover that the intensity doesn't last forever.

If you're struggling with sugar cravings, food obsession, or feeling like you have to satisfy every urge to eat, this episode will encourage you to try something different. The next time a craving feels loud and overwhelming, don't automatically feed it. Give yourself a few minutes. Let the feeling rise, settle, and pass.

You may be surprised by how quickly the craving loses its power.
