If you're a fan of Bridgerton or steamy historical romances, then you NEED to watch My Brilliant Career. This brand new Netflix series is based on a semi-autobiographical 1901 Australian novel, so the setting and style are a little different, but the vibes are vibingggg and honestly...we enjoyed it even more than the last two seasons of Bridgerton!

Before we dive into our thoughts on the show though, we HAD to discuss the huge news that we FINALLY have the titles and blurbs of ACOTAR Books 6 and 7...

A Court of Splintered Harmony (Releasing October 27, 2026)

A Court of Forgotten Melody (Releasing January 12, 2027)

We briefly share our feelings on the direction of the series and what we're hoping to see in these books.

During our convo for My Brilliant Career we:

  • Share what we loved about the show and what made it stand out
  • Discuss how My Brilliant Career differs from other period dramas
  • Explore gender roles and feminism in early 20th-century and how they impacted women's choices
  • Analyze Sibylla and her choices
  • Talk about TV trends and what we're hoping to see more of in the future

If you enjoyed the episode, don't forget to follow the podcast and leave us a five-star review!Love, CMWTK 💕
