[12] But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, [13] who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (ESV)
SUMMARY
We slow down at the end of the day and let John 1:12-13 reshape how we see ourselves when stress and old memories press in. We remember that through faith in Jesus we have the right to become children of God, held by a Father whose love goes beyond what we can grasp.
• reading and reflecting on John chapter one verses twelve and thirteen • acknowledging joyful and painful family memories without letting them define us • receiving a new kind of childhood through believing in Jesus Christ • resting in God’s perfect fatherly care and responding with trust and obedience • letting go of the day’s stress by remembering we are chosen by God • praying to understand God’s love more deeply as we fall asleep
