The September current events episode we are doing a world tour — because September is, without exaggeration, one of the most consequential months in the international diplomatic calendar every single year.
Every September, the leaders of 193 countries descend on Midtown Manhattan for the United Nations General Assembly. Every September, New York becomes the most diplomatically concentrated place on earth — bilateral meetings in hotel suites, speeches from the green marble podium, press stakeouts on First Avenue, and the kind of hallway conversations that actually shape global policy.
This September, the stakes are unusually high. Gwen lays out the key storylines in this episode.
