Luke Thomas: Abdul El-Sayed’s critics keep reaching for culture-war attacks because they have far less to say about the policies he is actually running on. Instead of seriously debating Medicare for All, healthcare costs, wages, or economic inequality, much of the opposition focuses on Hasan Piker, old blog posts, football, and other distractions.
That avoidance reflects a larger problem for the Right. Prices remain high, the war with Iran continues, Trump has failed to deliver meaningful wins for much of his base, and his immigration crackdown has produced serious economic and humanitarian consequences without fixing the problems it was supposed to solve.
