Dancing With the Stars just suspended a pro, and People reports it's the first time that's ever happened. On this episode of The Salty Chip Podcast, Mackenzie and Isaac break down how Carrie Ann Inaba's illegal-lift callout of Val's wife Jenna Johnson led to Val's now-deleted TikTok status, "You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night," which viewers widely read as a Will Smith slap reference. Val has apologized twice, and BBC Studios says he'll sit out Tuesday's Dedication Night while Jenna Dewan dances with Alan Bersten.
We get into Jenna's "I will take it" reaction, the Page Six report that she was reportedly crying backstage (not confirmed by anyone else), Carrie Ann's "So this is what we are doing now?" post, Val's two statements, and whether a one-week benching is the right call. Carrie Ann hasn't publicly responded to the apology or the suspension.
